Elgato has announced that it has expanded its Wave audio lineup with new hardware and software, setting a new standard for creator audio equipment. The announcements, made at TwitchCon, include the unveiling of the Wave Mic Arm Pro and the Wave Desk Stand, alongside a significant update to the Wave Link mixing app. These additions are designed to offer creators an unparalleled experience in audio control and quality.
The Wave Mic Arm Pro is an ultra-premium boom arm designed for professional recording environments. With its sleek, low-profile design, it enables unobstructed views while lifting microphones from below. The arm features gas-spring suspension, which allows for smoother and quieter adjustments without the need for knobs or screws. Capable of supporting up to 3 kg (6.6 lbs), it is built to handle even the heaviest microphones with ease. Available in both black and white finishes, it will also be customizable later this year with colored hinge caps. The arm’s hidden magnetic cable channels and foldaway design help keep workspaces organized and clutter-free.
For creators looking for a more portable option, the Wave Desk Stand provides versatility at an accessible price of $59.99. This compact stand can be mounted on any flat surface, from podcasting tables to kitchen countertops, making it ideal for creators on the go or those with limited space. It is compatible with a range of devices, including microphones, cameras, and lighting accessories, thanks to additional adapters. The stand features three pivot points and 360-degree rotation, allowing for easy maneuvering of equipment into the perfect position. Despite its compact size, it is sturdy enough to support equipment up to 1 kg (2.2 lbs), with cable ties included to keep workspaces tidy.
Elgato has also announced Wave Link 2.0, a major update to its flagship mixing app. The update brings enhanced features for both Windows and macOS users, such as one-click audio routing and streamlined integration with the Stream Deck. With the new update, users can easily add apps like Discord or Spotify to any input channel with a single click, simplifying the process of managing multiple audio sources. Additionally, the app now allows for the grouping of multiple applications into a single channel and provides visual icons for each app, making it easier to manage audio configurations. For Stream Deck users, the new “Add to Stream Deck” feature enables the device to be transformed into a comprehensive audio controller in just a few clicks, filling the device with actions tailored to the user’s setup.
A new feature called “Sound Check” has been introduced to help users fine-tune their audio settings. By recording a short sample, users can preview how their audio will sound with various effects applied, such as equalizers or noise removal, making adjusting easier and more effective.
Since the launch of its first Wave mic over four years ago, Elgato has consistently pushed the boundaries of creator audio technology. With a range of products including microphones, boom arms, XLR interfaces, and acoustic panels, Elgato’s Wave lineup provides a comprehensive suite of tools for creators. The Wave Link app, integrated with the Stream Deck, offers full control over audio settings, making it a top choice for streamers, podcasters, and content creators aiming for professional sound quality.
