Fulqrum Publishing and T19 Games have announced the release date for their upcoming retro-inspired FPS Dread Templar. Dread Templar is currently available in early access on PC however the game will now leave early access for a full release on PC on January 26, 2022. Dread Templar will be released through Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store. Check out the latest trailer for Dread Templar which reveals the release date:
The full release of Dread Templar will feature two substantial new episodes where each episode has five levels and a boss fight. A new weapon, new enemies, puzzles, and a lot more content will also be part of Dread Templar on its full release. Apart from English, international players will find a lot of localization options in the game such as English, French, German, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian.
In Dread Templar, you will become the scariest thing in hell and beyond as you annihilate everything that comes your way on your quest for vengeance. Dread Templar is heavily inspired by the classics of the 90s however it brings a modern twist to the tried-and-tested formula by adding gameplay mechanics like customizable skills, upgradeable weapons, and many Dread Powers for you to unlock and use in the game.
On your path, you will come face to face with hordes of demons and bloodthirsty fiends in different environments ranging from hell to frozen pirate ships rendered in retro yet detailed pixel-art visuals and an original soundtrack. Key features of Dread Templar include:
- Use FPS staples such as dashing and bullet time to conquer the brutal, fast-paced gameplay.
- Select a unique combination from 90+ skill and upgrade unlocks to create your own playstyle.
- Turn a varied roster of 20+ enemies and 7+ bosses into bloody mist with more than 10 weapons – from katana swords to firearms and infernal guns!
- Explore 25 vast levels and search them for 20 side areas, more than 170 secrets and solve over 20 challenging puzzles to receive epic rewards.
- Enjoy the handmade retro art style – all elements of the game including weapons, enemies, and environments are created in a retro pixel art style reminiscent of the 90s shooters. You can even select from 5 different filters to give the game a completely different look!
