Unfold Games has finally announced the release date of its upcoming psychological horror game DARQ in a trailer. The game is set to release for PC next month on August 15 and will be available via Steam.
There is no word if the game is going to be available on the consoles, but Unfold Games has previously said that the game can be ported for a console version one year after the initial PC launch. Take a look at the trailer below:
So what is the story DARQ? It is about a young boy who is trapped in a lucid dream that quickly takes a turn to the dark by turning into a nightmare that he is trapped within. According to the official game description, Lloyd will have to explore the darkest corners of his subconscious and survive the nightmare by bending the law of physics and manipulating the fluid fabric of the dream world.
Lloyd will have to solve puzzles and use caution when enemies are nearby. Stealth is of vital importance in the game Lloyd has to avoid and progress in the story. There is no chance of confronting the enemy and fighting them head-on as they are way more powerful and faster for a young boy.
Game director Wlad Marhulets tweeted about how he came up with the idea of DARQ when he knew nothing about game development. He says that after 10,000 hardworking hours, the game is finally complete.
The game will launch with full controller support, achievements, clouds saves and trading cards. It will also come in 19 languages, and we hope that the developer can also announce a console version of the game soon or in this year at least.
