Control PC Requirements, RTX 2080 Required For Ray Tracing

Control PC Requirements

Control is the next game that is being developed by Remedy Entertainment. These are the same people that worked on titles like Alan Wake and Quantum Break. Control is about a month away from release and the PC requirements of the game have been revealed.

Control PC requirements are pretty high and it looks like this is going to be a pretty graphics-intensive game. You can check out the requirements of the game below:

Minimum PC Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7, 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7500 / AMD Ryzen 3 1300X or better
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD RX580 or better
  • For Ray-Tracing: GeForce RTX 2060
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • DirectX: DX11
  • Additional Features: Widescreen support 21:9 / Remappable controls / Uncapped frame-rate / G-Sync / Freesync support

Recommended PC Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10, 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8600K / AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or better
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti / AMD Radeon VII or better
  • For Ray-Tracing: GeForce RTX 2080
  • DirectX: DX11 / DX12
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Additional Features: Widescreen support 21:9 / Remappable controls / Uncapped frame-rate / G-Sync / Freesync support

The minimum requirement for Ray Tracing is the RTX 2060 which is not shocking, keeping in mind that it is the lowest-end graphics card that supports the feature. other than that you will need the RTX 2080 in order to get proper ray tracing support.

The requirements of the game confirm that DX12 is supported and that you will need a lot of RAM in order to run the game as intended. The minimum requirement is 8 GB which is pretty standard for a game in 2019 but 16 GB is pretty high for the recommended specs.

An early build of the game was playable at E3 and while the game looked great, the ray tracing implementation was not great. That could be improved in the final version of the game but it is safe to say that most people are not interested in playing the game with RTX.

Let us know what you think about these Control PC requirements and whether or not you are interested in playing the game when it releases on August 27th, 2019.
