Bethesda Softworks has made a surprise announcement at the QuakeCon that the classic Doom games which include Doom, Doom II and Doom 3 are now available on all modern consoles.
The consoles included are PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. This was probably one of the biggest surprises in today’s QuakeCon because no one had the slightest idea that Bethesda is planning to bring back the old classics to modern consoles.
As much as I would have liked to get all the games in the form of a trilogy, there is not one. All three games have to be purchased separately from your desired store. Doom and Doom II were already available on Xbox One with the Backwards Compatibility program however Doom 3 now joins the mix and completes the trilogy.
Doom and Doom II cost $5 across all platforms while you can nab Doom 3 for a fair $10. The prices are not too high and a modest $20 will allow you to get all classic Doom titles on your favorite modern console and relive the classics that set the standard for first-person shooters in their respective era. Doom and Doom II are also now available on iOS and Android.

Doom 3 is one of my favorite classic horror shooters and I will definitely be buying it on my Nintendo Switch. The first two titles are also amazing and they also deserve a spot in everyone’s gaming library. I’ve played and ended Doom 3 multiple times on PC however I would love to have it on my Switch because it will allow me to slay some demons anywhere.
