Brazil Games is Coming to GDC with Award Winning Games This Year

Brazil Games has announced that they are participating in this year’s Game Developers Conference with full force. Brazil Games has assembled around 120 talented industry professionals from 47 different video game businesses to represent their country this year at GDC in San Francisco.

Brazil Games is a partnership between the Brazilian Game Companies Association, ABRAGAMES, and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). It was formed to promote the Brazilian gaming industry and bring to light many of the video game developers currently working in the country.

These video game developers are currently working on a diverse portfolio of games which range from software and external development for consoles to mobile, PC, VR, Liveops, PR/Marketing, transmedia, audio, and indie game design. Every year, Brazil Games becomes a sensation when the BIG festival is held in Sao Paulo and it forms the heart of the Indie Game scene in Latin America.

BIG festival is Brazil’s Independent Game Festival which will be held this year as well from June 22 to June 30. For the time being, Brazil Games is prepping up to take over GDC 2019 with a large group of companies joining in to represent their country. Check out the Brazil Games GDC 2019 highlight reel below.

During this year’s GDC, the Brazilian delegation plans to heat the show floor with a large variety of amazing games. Among these titles will be Relic Hunters Legend by Rogue Snail and DeMagnete VR by BitCake Studio have already won awards as GDC’s Best in Play Finalists. Another title Areia by GILP Studio earned a spot in Best in Play’s Honorable Mention category.

Apart from these titles, two more Brazilian titles Trials of Titans by Oktagon Games and Talaka by Flux Games have also been selected to take part in GDC Pitch. GDC Pitch is a chance for games to present themselves to the international game community for investors and publishers to help them achieve their potential and goals.

Apart from GDC, the delegation was also successful at the International Mobile Gaming Awards where six titles have been nominated to receive an award at this year’s event. The games nominated for awards include

  • Dandara by Long Hat House
  • Lila’s Tale by Skullfish Studios
  • Looney TunesTM World Mayhem by Aquiris Game Studio
  • Tetragon by Cafundo Creative Studio
  • Hoppia Tale by Lucid Side Game Studio
  • Until Dead by Monomyto Game Studio

In addition, two more games are being considered for recognition at the Game Connection America Awards. These titles include Crystal League by Flipster Studios and Spaceline Crew by Cofeenauts. Crystal League has been nominated for Best Social Game category and Spaceline Crew has been nominated for Best Casual Game and Most Promising IP categories.

Brazil Games executive director, Eliana Russi says

The recognition our studios and developers are receiving is absolutely indicative of the investment we put in our products, our country, and each other. We are extremely happy to be able to share the success of our companies with the world and create strong, lasting relationships with the international gaming community.

During the GDC 2019, 13 companies from the Brazilian Games delegation will be present. The complete list of video games and their nominated categories at the GDC is detailed below.

You can visit the Brazil Games booth at the GDC this year and check out their amazing work. They will be located in the south hall of the Moscone Center, GDC plays booth N3326 from March 20, 2019, to March 22, and at Game Connection America from March 18 to March 22, 2019.
