Blizzard now responds towards all the heat and hate for its upcoming MMO RPG Diablo Immortal. Game Designer Wyatt Cheng and Senior Game Producer Joe Hsu had interview with Gamespot, they said:
We were talking earlier today about how a large group of the Diablo community are PC gamers, and they came to Blizzard through PC, and they love the PC platform, and we love it too.
They further put emphasis on why fans had high hopes for a new game announcement for major platforms like PC and consoles and what actually was root cause of disappointment (according to them). They said:
I think if you came to BlizzCon expecting and hoping for a PC announcement, and you don’t play mobile games at all, you’d be ‘oh, that’s not what I asked for, and this doesn’t do anything for me,’ I think it’s okay for people to be sceptical.
Both executives further went on iterating that those who are currently sceptical about Diablo Immortal will find the game pretty fun to play once it releases officially. They asked the fans to put faith in the upcoming game and give it a try and they will find it interesting to play.
The game is in development by NetEase Games. Blizzard has been working for nearly a decade with NetEase. They have been working together to bring famous brands like Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch and World of Warcraft to the Chinese gaming market. More so, Cheng mentioned the reason why now is the time to bring the next Diablo game to mobile platform. They said:
We were looking at this 20 year period in between Diablo II, Lord of Destruction, and Diablo III, and we said, ‘All these events happened, so we should take a look at creating a game that explores that space in time
Hsu further added that bringing a new Diablo game to mobile platform is Blizzard’s efforts to explore and try new things to bring more number of fans to this humongous community.
The team behind Diablo Immortal and NetEase are confident that they will the hearts of Diablo fans once the game releases.
