Update: BIG Festival has revised the submission dates for both the submissions for the awards section and the Nordic Game Discovery Challenge. The new revised dates are as follows:
- New BIG Festival Awards Submission Deadline: May 5, 2019
- New Nordic Games Discovery Challenge Deadline: May 6, 2019

BIG or Brazil’s Independent Games Festival has announced today that it will be closing the submissions for its awards section on April 26, 2019. BIG is Latin America’s largest indie gaming expo and currently, entries are live for developers who want to enter themselves for a chance to be reviewed by its panel of industry specialists.
BIG Festival is a multilateral business and technology event that gives game developers from all over the world a platform where they can be recognized for their work and get the respect they deserve in the field. Developers bring along their creations and it helps them reach a global market by making international relations at the event.
The event takes place in São Paulo from June 26 to 30 and it highlights the growth of the Brazilian games industry along with international relations that it has forged as well as the talent it is fostering on the worldwide video game scene. In the latest international event, Nordic Game Discovery Challenge (NGDC) has partnered with BIG Festival to launch the first qualifier in Brazil.

The NGDC is a global competition which finds promising games that have potential to grow and brings them together to battle for prizes. Season IV of the Pitch Battle is taking place later this year on June 27 and the winner will be taking the spot in the Grand Finals at Nordic Games 2020 in Malmö, Sweden. This year, the following Awards are present at the BIG Festival.

Earlier, BIG was also present at GDC 2019 where it showed the world some of the best video games to come out from Brazil’s indie game scene. If you are want to submit your own game for NGDC’s coveted grand prize, you can head over to the submission page and enter your game before the deadline which is June 13, 3019.
