Larian Studios, who is known a the developer of Divinity: Original Sin, has teased a new project that may have already given away what they are working on. The new project seems likely that it will be Baldur’s Gate 3

The project was teased over at the developer’s official website. When the announcement was made, it was assumed that this was probably going to be Divinity: Original Sin 3, however from the looks of it, it the announcement to be holding something bigger than that.

Source files in the teaser have suggested that this new game is indeed going to be Baldur’s Gate 3, and that Larian has been working on it since last year. You can open the source code of the page where you can download the MP4 file of the teaser video. If you open the vide in a text editor, you will find many references to Baldur’s Gate 3. These details were revealed by a Twitter user by the name of aquagirafe88.

If this has got you excited, you won’t have to wait that long for more details to pour out as E3 is just around the corner and starts in a couple of weeks. We might get to hear something concrete about the game, and its development, plus when Larian Studios plans to release the game.

Baldur’s Gate series was originally developed by BioWare and published by Interplay and Black Isle Studios. The first game in the series, Baldur’s Gate was released back in 1998 on PC. Since then only a sequel has been produced by BioWare that was released in 2000 with the name of Baldur’s Gate 2: Shadow of Amn. While fans have been waiting for the third title in the series, the games did receive enhanced versions over the years that were released by Beamdog’s Overhaul Games division.
