ATONE: Heart of the Elder Tree Gameplay

Publisher Untold Tales and developer Wildboy Studios have released a new gameplay trailer for ATONE: Heart of the Elder Tree that showcases musical combat. The new gameplay trailer features the Ice King fight which is action-packed and shows how music and combat fit together to deliver a unique experience. The latest gameplay trailer was played on the Hard difficulty setting and it was recorded on a Nintendo Switch.

In the Hard mode of the game, players will be given 4 rails of notes to hit however if that is too difficult for you, you can switch to the Normal mode which has 2 rails of notes to hit. If you just want to focus on the narrative, you can switch to the Story mode which allows you to experience the epic story of ATONE: Heart of the Elder Tree without worrying too much about anything else. If you desire a challenge later, all fights in the game can be played later in the Arena mode where you can aim for the perfect score or certain trophies.

The combat of the game is all about surviving to the end of the song and you will only survive if you manage to stay on the beat. The longer you stay on the beat, the higher the chance of you hitting the enemy and less of your enemy hitting you. Apart from showcasing the gameplay of ATONE: Heart of the Elder Tree, the publisher also released a new video that showcases the game’s unique, and electronica-infused OST with the track ‘Sons of Fenrir’. ATONE: Heart of the Elder Tree is slated for release on January 23, 2023, on PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. A free demo for the game is available on PC via Steam and you can check it out right now. The full game will release on GOG as well.
