Ubisoft has announced that its strategy game Anno 1800 is heading to next-gen consoles as the title manages to surpass 2.5 million global players. This will be the first time in 25 years that an Anno game is launching on consoles so it is a big milestone for the publisher. With its latest milestone, Anno 1800 is now also the fastest-selling game of the entire Anno franchise. The next-gen console release is coming on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 16, 2023. Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Anno 1800 to celebrate the console announcement as well. Check it out below:
In Anno 1800, you get the opportunity to show off your leadership skills as you build gigantic metropolises, set up efficient and profitable logistical networks, colonize an exotic new continent, charter expeditions to four corners of the globe and dominate your opponents diplomatically, and commercially or military. The console version of Anno 1800 is currently under development by the same studio, Ubisoft Mainz, that developed the PC version.
Anno 1800 Console Edition will offer players the full Anno experience with a completely redesigned UI and controls that are more suitable for a console. It will fully utilize the power of the next-gen consoles to deliver a beautiful yet solid Anno experience. Considering the fact that this is the very first Anno title to arrive on consoles, Ubisoft Mainz has to deliver a solid title in order to attract a completely new fanbase because very few strategy games have actually managed to pull it off with their console releases. The lack of a mouse is one of the biggest challenges while porting such titles to consoles.

Pre-orders for Anno 1800 Console Edition are now live and players can choose between two different versions:
- The Standard version includes the base game and the biggest game updates. It costs $40.
- The Deluxe version contains the base game, the biggest game updates, and three cosmetics packs: the Pedestrian Zone, the Amusements Pack, and Vibrant Cities. It costs $50.
All early adopters (players who purchase the game before April 16th, 2023) and pre-ordering players will also receive the Imperial and Console Founder packs which come with extra cosmetic bonuses along with a digital artbook and soundtrack.
