The GTX 1060 is an ideal graphics card for running the game and you can use pretty much any relatively modern CPU.
Driver Update
Be sure to update your drivers as they are often optimized for newly released titles and not only deliver better performance but fix issues. Restart your PC after the installation process in order to make sure that the effects are in place. If updating the drivers does not solve the issue then try other potential fixes.
Nvidia Tweaks
If you are using an Nvidia graphics card then a couple of tweaks can be made for Age Of Wonders: Planetfall PC in the Nvidia Control Panel. The following are the steps that you should follow in order to get better performance:
- Open Nvidia Control Panel. Right-click on Desktop > Click Nvidia Control Panel
- Head to Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings
- Locate Age of Wonders: Planetfall. If the game name doesn’t appear in the list, you can click on the Add button and locate the .exe file.
- Now from the settings make the following changes
- Monitor Tech: G-Sync (If available)
- Maximum Pre-rendered frames: 2
- Threaded optimization: On
- Power Management: Prefer Maximum Performance
- Texture Filtering – Quality: Performance
If you are still having issues then you can try to reduce the graphics settings of the game and see if that makes any significant difference.
