Publisher Team17 and developer PlaySide Studios have announced the release of the biggest update called Flames of Retribution for Age of Darkness: Final Stand. Age of Darkness: Final Stand is an award-winning survival RTS and it was launched in Early Access back in October 2021. Since its release, the developer has been expanding the game universe with regular updates and now the game is about to get its biggest update to date called Flames of Retribution. Flames of Retribution will bring Campaign: Act I and Act II to the game on April 19, 2023.
To celebrate the arrival of the new Flames of Retribution update, Team17 has also released the Campaign Prologue Trailer for Age of Darkness: Final Stand. Check it out below to see what the game is all about:
As detailed in the official press release, Flames of Retribution will bring the first seven of 10 fully voiced campaign chapters, a new hero, Merek, who will be available in the Survival Mode along with a range of new updates when it arrives later this month. Merek Longhold is also known as ‘The Bolstering Might’ and he is the latest Hero to arrive in Age of Darkness: Final Stand in the Survival Mode. Merek wields a massive halberd with an ego to match and he prefers close combat where he can really hit hard.
Flames of Retribution arrives after two previously released content updates during the Early Access period of the game. Each update added new production units and heroes to the battlefield. These updates included Queen’s Fury released in November 2021, and Rebellion’s Rise in December 2022. The developer has also revealed that future chapters in the campaign will be released later in 2023. Age of Darkness: Final Stand is currently available on PC via Steam where you can jump into the Early Access version and get involved with the development of the game with your feedback.
