Acer has unveiled two brand new laptops ahead of the upcoming CES 2021 event which appear to be budget-series Nitro 5 laptops. The new laptops are part of Acer’s Nitro gaming laptop series and the laptops will feature the new and soon to be announced Tiger Lake-H35 CPUs part of Intel’s 11th Gen Tiger Lake CPU series.
The two laptops unveiled by Acer are Nitro 5 Budget Gaming Laptops which will be powered by Intel Tiger Lake-H35 CPUs and NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1650 mobile GPUs. The new processors have higher TDP ranges which in turn gives better performance than the Tiger Lake-U processors released back in September.
From the GPU configuration, looks like Acer is targeting these laptops as an entry choice for budget gamers. It is likely that this laptop is at the bottom of the totem pole of Acer gaming laptops.
Coming to the laptops, the Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-56-57YH) is the cheaper of the two. It features the Intel Core i5-11300H, 8 GB DDR4 RAM, and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU which has 4GB GDDR5 VRAM. For storage, the laptop will have a 512 GB NVMe SSD.
It comes with a 15.6 “FHD IPS ComfyView display, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX 201, and Bluetooth 5. This model has a 57 Wh battery and an HD webcam with 2 Microphones. It features a backlit AZERTY keyboard too.
The second laptop is the Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-56-72KT) which packs more power, featuring the Intel Core i7-11370H, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU which has 4GB GDDR5 VRAM. For storage, the laptop will have a 512 GB NVMe SSD.
It comes with a 15.6 “FHD IPS 144Hz display which the other model lacks, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX 201, and Bluetooth 5. This model has a 57 Wh battery and an HD webcam with 2 Microphones. It features a backlit AZERTY keyboard too.
As far as pricing and availability are concerned, we will have to wait for that information which Acer will most probably give in the upcoming CES 2021 event.
