Auroch Digital and Big Fan Games have announced the release date of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2. Boltgun 2 will launch on October 14, 2026, with a new trailer offering the first look at the game’s main antagonist, Vashtorr the Arkifane.
The release date trailer introduces Vashtorr, a daemonic demigod associated with inventors, engineers, scientists, and artisans, while also featuring a new musical track created for the game by renowned composer Mick Gordon, known for his work on DOOM (2016), DOOM Eternal, and Wolfenstein: The New Order.
The story follows Ultramarine Malum Caedo and Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath as they travel to an isolated star system to investigate reports of increased Chaos activity. Their investigation quickly turns into a battle for survival when Vashtorr awakens a massive daemonic machine at the heart of a planet.
The resulting explosion destroys much of the Imperial fleet, leaving Malum and Nyra to travel from world to world in an effort to cleanse the corruption powering Vashtorr’s machines. Their ultimate goal is to banish the demigod back to the Warp.
Boltgun 2 continues the fast-paced first-person action of its predecessor while expanding the weapon selection and variety of enemies. Players will once again face familiar Chaos forces, including Chaos Cultists and plague-spreading Nurglings, alongside new threats.
The new trailer also provides a glimpse at Bloodletters and their Juggernauts, with the developers teasing even greater horrors waiting in the ongoing war for the Imperium.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 will launch on PC via Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 14, 2026. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also planned to be released shortly after the initial launch.
