This Moonlight Peaks Farm Animals guide details how you can build your first barn, adopt farm animals, and find different critters that are accessible in the game. Moonlight Peaks gives the farm animals a supernatural twist, with creatures such as Cheekens, Piggoats, and Cowculas available to raise and care for, differentiating them from animals found in other farming sims.
Farm Animals Guide – Moonlight Peaks
You can find the majority of the animals you can adopt at Luna’s Farm. In front of her home, you’ll find a tiny field with three animals available each day.
How to Get Animals
You only get Cheekens when you first start the game until you finish the quest for creating your first barn. After the barn is complete, the animals that can be found at Luna’s farm will start to alternate every day. These are animals chosen at random and may not be available the following day. Different colour variations can also appear, adding another incentive for frequent visits to Luna’s paddock.
If you see an animal that you desire to have, just interact with it. If you have enough Coins and enough space in your barn, you’ll be offered it to adopt. You’ll also need to have an animal’s name for home before you are about to make the adoption, as you will need to name the animal upon arrival.
How to Build the First Barn
You must create a Barn before you bring in your animals to your Home. Ridge is in charge of construction at The Howling Hammer. Luna will instruct you on building your first barn to adopt a Cheeken through a story quest. Make adequate room on your farm for the building. You’ll then have to head to The Howling Hammer with the necessary materials.
The first Barn will require:
- 4,000 Gold
- A completely cleared 10 x 6 area
It will take some days for the construction to complete, but when the Barn is finished, you will have a place to store your animals. Four animals are able to fit into the first Barn. As of now, there isn’t any other information in the origin to suggest that the present Barn can be expanded to accommodate more animals, yet players who want more animals will have to develop an alternate Barn.

Animal Hats
You can add hats to your animals for fun. You need to visit a specific vendor to obtain the hats, which is the character Snek, who can be found in town at the Midnight Market on Saturday and Sunday. He has small hats for sale that you can put on your farm animals.
The hat you want won’t always be available when you see Snek at the market because his stock shifts over time. For instance, if you want to find a special hat like a witch hat, then you must go back on other weekends until it comes. Most hats also have several color variations and options, which may vary from visit to visit at the Midnight Market.
