Publisher NACON and developer Artefacts Studio have released the first gameplay trailer for MXGP 26, offering a closer look at the next official game based on the FIM Motocross World Championship. Scheduled to launch in October 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the latest entry promises significant upgrades across visuals, physics, and track simulation thanks to its move to Unreal Engine 5.
The biggest technical change is the series’ transition to Epic’s latest engine, allowing MXGP 26 to deliver a noticeable visual leap over previous installments. The gameplay trailer showcases more detailed environments, realistic weather effects, improved lighting, and highly detailed bike models. Tracks also feature richer terrain, with close-up shots highlighting everything from muddy surfaces to mechanical details such as suspension systems and exhausts.
Artefacts Studio has also rebuilt the game’s physics and rider animations to create a more authentic motocross experience. Players can race from a fully immersive first-person helmet camera, while riders now react naturally to jumps, ruts, berms, and changing terrain. Bikes and rider equipment also become progressively dirtier throughout each race depending on the weather and the type of surface, whether it’s mud, sand, or compact dirt.
One of the headline gameplay additions is Dynamic Deformation, a new system that allows tracks to evolve throughout a race. Instead of remaining static, circuits develop deeper ruts and grooves as riders repeatedly pass over the same sections. This means racing lines will constantly change over multiple laps, forcing players to adapt their approach as the terrain becomes increasingly challenging.
MXGP 26 will also feature the official 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship season. The trailer confirms several licensed circuits, including Bariloche in Argentina, Riola Sardo in Sardinia, Pietramurata in Italy, and Loket in the Czech Republic, each offering distinct terrain characteristics ranging from volcanic soil and deep sand to hard-packed dirt.
The official rider roster includes competitors from both the MXGP and MX2 championships, with names such as Romain Febvre, Maxime Renaux, Kay de Wolf, and Calvin Vlaanderen appearing in the game. Players will also have access to licensed motorcycles from manufacturers including Kawasaki, Husqvarna, Yamaha, KTM, and Honda, alongside riding gear from well-known motocross brands like Fox Racing, Alpinestars, Scott, and Airoh.
Customization remains a major part of the experience, allowing players to create their own rider and personalize both bikes and equipment. Outside of the career-focused modes, MXGP 26 includes Grand Prix, Championship, and Time Attack modes, online multiplayer for up to 10 players, and The Compound, a free-roaming training area where players can practice and experiment without the pressure of competition.
MXGP 26 launches in October 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Additional details about the game will be revealed closer to its launch, including a confirmed release date.
