3DClouds has released the Formula E – Electric Evolution expansion for Formula Legends, bringing officially licensed content from the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship to the racing title. The expansion is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo release planned for a later date.
The add-on introduces a full Formula E experience, including official teams, drivers, and manufacturers, along with a selection of real-world circuits such as Berlin, Tokyo, London, São Paulo, Miami, and Shanghai. Designed in partnership with the championship, the expansion integrates multiple eras of the sport, allowing players to race across GEN1, GEN2, and the newer GEN3 Evo cars, each with distinct handling, performance, and energy management characteristics.
The DLC brings all of the Formula E teams and drivers to the game, including Andretti Formula E, Citroen Racing, CUPRA Kiro, DS Penske, Envision Racing, Jaguar TCS Racing, Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team, Mahindra Racing, Nissan Formula E Team, and Porsche Formula E Team. All teams feature their respective drivers, official liveries, and sponsors to deliver an official experience.
Beyond new content, the expansion focuses on recreating the structure and strategy of Formula E racing. Systems such as ATTACK MODE and PIT BOOST are included, requiring players to manage battery usage while making tactical decisions during races. Additional elements like double-header race weekends and lap-by-lap energy management aim to reflect the format of the real-world series, adding a layer of strategy beyond standard circuit racing.
Formula Legends is a sim-cade racer, blending accessible driving mechanics with elements of simulation. The Formula E expansion builds on that foundation by introducing more complex race management systems while maintaining a structure that remains approachable for a broader audience.
The Formula E – Electric Evolution DLC is now available as paid downloadable content priced at $7.99 PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Alongside the digital release, a physical edition of Formula Legends is scheduled to launch on June 4 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, bundling additional content for retail distribution.
