This Crimson Desert Bird Taming Guide details how you can tame birds in the game and keep them as pets. With the new update, you can now tame birds that sit on your shoulder, collect loot, and act like other pets, but with the bonus of flying. The process is easy once you understand how the system works, and you can even choose which bird you want.
Bird Taming Guide – Crimson Guide
When you launch the game after the update, you may receive a special item in your storage called the Sotdae of Bond tool. This usually appears automatically if you have already progressed enough. Head to your camp, Howling Hill, open your storage chest, and find this item under the tools section. Move it into your inventory so you can use it.
Placing the Bird Feeder
Once the tool is in your inventory, use it to place a feeder on the ground. You can position it anywhere suitable by aiming and placing it in front of you. This feeder is what attracts birds, so choose a spot where you can easily watch what happens next.
Attracting Birds with Food
After placing the feeder, open it and add some food. You can use items like berries, apples, or grains. Once food is inside, step back a little and wait. A bird will eventually appear and land near the feeder to eat. As it eats, a trust meter starts increasing.
If the trust isn’t filling fast enough, you can add more food to speed things up. The bird will keep eating until it is ready to be tamed.
Taming the Bird
When the trust bar is full, you will get the option to interact with the bird. Accept it, and the bird will become your pet, landing on your shoulder. From that point on, it behaves like other companions and helps collect loot while you play.
Changing Birds and Trying Again
You are not stuck with the first bird you get. If you don’t like it, remove the food from the feeder. The bird will leave after a short time. Then you can refill the feeder to attract another one. Each time, a different bird may show up, so you can repeat the process until you find one you like.
Interestingly, the type of food doesn’t seem to guarantee a specific bird, so it is more about trying again until you get the one you prefer.
This system is very flexible. You can keep replacing your bird, experiment with different foods, and choose a companion that looks best to you. Once tamed, your bird will follow you around, sit on your shoulder, and assist you just like any other pet.
