Polyphony Digital has released Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.69, which brings three new cars to the game, including the bonkers 1,286 BHP 2024 Yangwang U9. Apart from the new cars, the new update also brings new events for the World Circuits, Extra Menus in the Café, and fresh details for the upcoming 2026 Gran Turismo 7 World Series. Players will also find new Power Pack Challenges and new mechanics in the Scapes feature to allow even more control to take that perfect picture.
Starting with the basics, the new update adds three brand-new vehicles to the game. The list includes:
- 2024 Yangwang U9
- 1993 Renault Twingo
- 1993 Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichbau (964)
Chinese vehicles are slowly taking over the world, and now they are taking over Gran Turismo 7 as well with the arrival of the world’s fastest EV, the 2024 Yangwang U9, created by BYD’s luxury performance brand. This monstrous EV boasts over 1,268 BHP, which allows it to catapult to 62 MPH in just 2.36 seconds. Each wheel of the U9 is powered by its own electric motor, and it sits on the DiSus-X suspension, which combines hydraulic and pneumatic controls to actively control body motion to deliver both control and stability. It can be purchased from Brand Central.
Next up, we have the cute little 1993 Renault Twingo, featuring a transverse-mounted 1.2-liter inline-four engine with a lightweight chassis. This may not be the fastest vehicle in the game, but it surely looks quirky and has its own spot in automotive history, considering the fact that it was produced for over 14 years. The Renault Twingo is available in the Used Cars market.
Finally, we have one of the rarest Porsches ever made, the 1993 911 Turbo S Leichbau (964). Following the iconic 930, the third generation of 911 boasted over 80% brand-new components as compared to its previous generation. This included its more modernized and aerodynamic exterior. Powered by a 3.6L flat-six engine, it came with Porsche’s first full-time all-wheel-drive system with an optional rear-wheel-drive model as well, which featured the Tiptronic automatic transmission. This is available from Legend Cars.
Moving on, the update also brings new content for players to try out. This includes an Extra Menu No. 53: Muscle Cars for players having Collector Level 55 and above, while new Power Pack Challenges have arrived in the game as well. This special mode allows players to receive a variety of rewards according to the number of races completed within a fixed period. It is updated weekly and can be accessed from the World Map screen. Three new World Circuits events are also now live, including:
- Schwarzwald League – Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve
- Hypercar Parade – Yas Marina Circuit
- World Touring Car 900 – Autódromo de Interlagos
Fans awaiting the 2026 Gran Turismo World Series will be happy to know that Online Qualifiers are now complete, and the driver lineup is decided. The first event is taking place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the historic Teatro Lirico in Milan. Tickets are now available for the event. Round 2 will take place at Polyphony Digital Inc.’s Tokyo studio and will be broadcast on April 15, 2026. Round 3 is set for October 3, 2026, in Singapore, while the World Finals will take place at the new Shibuya Lovez venue on December 5 and 6, 2026.
