CRKD has officially announced the next version of its popular mini gaming controller, ATOM, called ATOM+. This collectible keychain controller is designed to deliver powerful gameplay in an ultra-compact form, but it manages to do it discreetly. CRKD is known for creating premium and unique gaming peripherals, and the ATOM+ is a testament to how the company is further improving this brilliant little controller.
With mobile gaming on the rise, having a controller as small as the ATOM or the new ATOM+ can be a game-changer for gamers who are always on the move. The OG ATOM was received well because of this very reason. Players were able to just hang it from their keychains or belt slots and take it anywhere with them. CRKD ATOM+ Announced Featuring Multi-Format Compatibility and TMR Thumbsticks
The ATOM+ takes the concept of the original ATOM controller and further expands on it. It is compatible with a large number of devices, ranging from Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, PC, mobile devices, tablets, and even Smart TVs. It retains the same small form factor and can be hung from a keychain, backpack, or anything else where you hang your keys. This time around, the controller has a few secrets up its sleeve.
The Thumbsticks on the Atom+ feature TMR or Tunnelling Magnetoresistance, which means that its sticks are free from any sort of drift for the entirety of their lifespan. It also increases precision when compared directly with traditional mechanical sticks or Hall Effect sensors. Despite the small form factor, the ATOM+ comes with a full set of controls offering dual Thumbsticks, action buttons, digital triggers, shoulder buttons, and toggle controls. Nothing is sacrificed when it comes to the button layout.
It can connect with devices via Bluetooth and comes with a built-in rechargeable battery using a USB-C connector for charging. It also ships with a wrist strap so that players can secure it to their wrists when playing games or anything else, such as their backpack or a keychain. It also supports customization via the CRKD Companion App, where players can remap buttons, adjust vibration feedback, update firmware, and manage other settings.
