Developer Invoke Studios and publisher Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of Hasbro Inc., announced their brand-new title Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons during The Game Awards 2025. Warlock is an original single-player action-adventure dark fantasy game set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons. Warlock was announced through a short trailer that did not reveal much about the title, with two dates. The first one is a full gameplay reveal, slated for summer 2026, and the second one is the release date, planned for 2027.
Warlock places you in the role of Kaatri, a veteran warrior who makes a pact to wield otherworld magic against dark powers. The role of Kaatri features full performance capture by the award-winning Tricia Helfer, known for her roles in Battlestar Galactica and Lucifer. By using this powerful magic, you will overcome a wide range of challenges. Exploration plays a major role in the game, and these spells will unlock new paths and possibilities for you in a beautiful yet unsettling world.
You will also use this magic in combat while facing enemies. Magic and melee will combine for a unique combat experience that will be both tactical and visceral. Dominic Guay, General Manager of Invok, comments:
Working with our colleagues at Wizards of the Coast on a brand as rich as D&D has given the team the creative freedom and support to build a new ambitious open-world experience for players. We’re excited to finally announce WARLOCK and looking forward to sharing gameplay details in the future.
John Hight, President of Wizards of the Coast, also adds:
Warlocks wield powerful, otherworldly magic, but it always comes at a cost. Invoke has crafted a world that captures the dangerous wonder at the heart of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS where players can push the limits of Kaatri’s magic and discover what lies beyond.
As of now, very small details have been announced for Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons. Apart from its website and a teaser trailer, we do not have much to share at this point as well. Additional details about the game, including the gameplay, will be revealed during the summer of 2026, and the game is slated for a full release in 2027. Warlock is currently in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
