Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern Announced for PC in 2027

Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern

Publisher Dotemu and developer Homo Ludens have announced Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern, a new management simulation set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe. The standalone game puts players in the role of an innkeeper rather than an adventurer, with players responsible for building and running a tavern that serves heroes preparing for their next quests. It is scheduled to launch on PC in 2027.

Set in the Dalelands region of Faerûn, Long Rest Tavern focuses on the less glamorous side of adventuring. Instead of fighting monsters or exploring dungeons, players will serve the adventurers who return from those dangerous excursions, turning a modest roadside establishment into a popular destination for heroes.

The tavern will also play a role in sending those heroes back into the world. Players can assign quests to adventuring parties based on their composition, with those decisions influencing how their missions unfold. This gives the management side of the game a direct connection to the adventures taking place beyond the tavern’s doors.

Running the establishment will involve more than serving drinks. Players will cook meals, brew beverages, and experiment with different ingredients to expand their menu. New recipes can help attract a wider range of patrons, including characters from different species and classes, while providing adventurers with food and drink to recover after their outings.

As the business grows, players will earn money from their customers and reinvest it into upgrades and expansions. The tavern can be customized through its layout and decoration, with players able to add various artifacts and mementos to give their establishment its own identity.

The game will also introduce a rival innkeeper who challenges the player’s progress, adding another layer of competition to the management experience. Keeping ingredients and other supplies stocked will become increasingly important as the tavern attracts more customers and demand increases.

Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern is currently planned for release on PC in 2027. Players interested in checking out the game can head over to its official Steam page and add it to their wishlists.
