Lenovo Details Two Unreleased AMD Ryzen 5000 Pro APUs with Specifications

Lenovo has announced its new ThinkPad laptops which are scheduled to release sometime soon. These laptops will be powered by Lenovo AMD Ryzen 5000 series APUs. The updated listing of the upcoming ThinkPad T14 shows the specifications of two unreleased AMD Ryzen 5000 PRO series APUs that will power the ThinkPad notebooks.

The two unreleased APUs are the Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U and the Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U and both are part of the Ryzen 5000 Pro APU family. Currently, both these APUs are unreleased and may be featured for the first time in the Lenovo ThinkPad Laptops.

Coming to the specifications of these APUs, the Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U is a 6 core and12 thread model having a base clock of 2.2 GHz and a boost clock of up to 4.2 GHz. The Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U features an 11MB cache.

The Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U is an 8 core, 16 thread model with a base clock at 2.0 GHz and a boost clock up to 4.4 GHz. The Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U features a 12 MB cache. Both of these APUs have a TDP range of 10-25W and both also feature integrated Radeon graphics. Specifications of the integrated graphics however are not currently known.

However, not all information is known about the Ryzen 5000 PRO APUs. It is not known whether these APUs are part of the Zen 2 (Lucienne) or Zen 3 (Cezanne) architecture as Ryzen 5000 series APUs feature both these architectures.

According to previous generations of APUs, it is expected that the flagship Ryzen PRO 5850U CPU will offer 8 GPU cores and the Ryzen PRO 5650U CPU might be one notch down at 7 GPU cores. The launch date of these unannounced APUs is also not known but it may not be that far as HP has also listed upcoming laptops utilizing these APUs.
