Xbox One July 2019 Update Brings Changes for Xbox Game Pass, Alexa

Xbox Scarlett All Access

Microsoft has revealed the details of the brand new Xbox One July 2019 update and it brings with it numerous changes for Xbox Game Pass and Alexa. The new update will introduce a brand new way to interact with Xbox Game Pass making it more accessible for the players. Apart from it, additional countries are now available for Xbox Skill for Alexa along with a new Xbox Skill for Alexa voice commands.

Starting with the Xbox Game Pass, players will get access to a brand new feature called ‘Play Later’ which will allow users to add certain games to the list that they want to play in the future. Since the service comes with a lot of games, this will help them track the games and add them to this list and then start playing them once they are done with their current games.

This is just like a Watchlist for movies where you keep adding movies so that you remember to watch them later however this time, it is about video games. This feature will be available on both the Xbox console and the Game Pass mobile pass allowing players greater freedom to manage their future plans for gaming on the go.

The second new feature in the July’s update is Xbox Skill for Alexa which is getting even more countries and voice commands. Players will be able to speak with Alexa and ask her more gaming questions now. The new countries getting the Xbox Skill for Alexa include:

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • France
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Mexico
  • Spain

Some of the new commands that the players can now use with Alexa for their Xbox include:

  • Alexa, ask Xbox what’s new on Game Pass?
  • Alexa, ask Xbox what are my friends playing?
  • Alexa, ask Xbox to pair my controller.

Along with these commands, there are tons of more commands that you can use with Xbox Skill for Alexa. More features are planned for both the console and the Alexa support for the future and the information about these future updates will be released in the future.

Which of the new features are you looking forward to trying out when the July 2019 update rolls out for Xbox One? Let us know in the comments section below.
