Uncharted Movie Starring Tom Holland Delayed Again

Uncharted Movie

The Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland has yet again been delayed over the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected the world. This comes as no surprise after the United States has been declared the new epicenter of the virus, crossing 3,000 deaths and surging more than 100,000 cases.

The production of the movie was actually planned to start a few weeks ago this month but has been delayed yet again to an unconfirmed date. The official release date from Sony was set for March 5 next year in 2021, but that has been pushed to October 8, 2021. If anything, we can assume that Sony has pushed the production to start sometime in the following months.

This isn’t the first movie to be delayed because of the coronavirus outbreak, as Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Morbius, and Peter Rabbit 2 have all been delayed to net year. If the pandemic continues with its trend, we could be seeing more delays in the months to come.

Uncharted is going to be the first movie that is based on the Uncharted game. Tom Holland is confirmed to taking the lead role of Nathan Drake as he stars alongside Mark Wahlberg. Other casts include Antonio Banderas who plays as Nathan Drake’s mentor Victor “Sully” Sullivan, and Sophia Ali as the female lead. Without the delay, the production would have started in Berlin next month.

The Uncharted movie will be directed by Rubens Fleischer, who is well known for his movies like Venom and Zombieland. Meanwhile, the story is written by both Matt Holloway and Art Marcum who have written the original Iron Man film.
