When you have first completed the full story of Final Fantasy 16, you need to start New Game + to begin with the first step of getting the Ultimate Sword.
The Ultima Sword requires three ingredients to make it, while the blueprint of the weapon can be seen at the blacksmith once you start the New Game +. The ingredients required for the Ultima Sword are:
- Utterance of Creation
- Gotterdammerung Reforged
- Everdark Reforged
How to Get Utterance of Creation
Utterance of Creation is obtained automatically when you start up New Game + after completing the main story of Final Fantasy 16.
How to Get Gotterdammerung Reforged
In the first playthrough of Final Fantasy 16, you might have crafted yourself the best weapon you can get in your first playthrough called the Gotterdammerung. The Ultima Sword is even better than this weapon, but it can only be obtained in New Game +.
The first ingredient to craft the Ultima Sword is to remake the Gotterdammerung in New Game + which can be done so by obtaining three crafting materials after defeating Notorious Marks enemies. The last ingredient to craft the Ultima Sword is Everdark Reforged. This crafting ingredient can only be obtained when you beat the Barnabas Boss in the main quest called “The Last King” in New Game +
After defeating the boss, you will get the last ingredient required to make the Ultima Sword. To do just that, head to the Blacksmith in The Hideaway and make yourself the Ultima Sword.
