Ubsioft has announced that the upcoming game The Division 2 will have a 90GB+ day one patch on the PlayStation 4. Meanwhile, for Microsoft PC and Xbox One it is going to be 50GB.
The Division 2 is set to release next week on 15 March. However this announcement of the day one patch has put PlayStation 4 players in doubt about their console storage space as the update would sit somewhere around 88 to 92 GB. According to Ubisoft’s support page, players on PlayStation 4 that purchase the physical copy of the game will need to download this massive day one patch.
For those who have pre-ordered the game digitally, will have the update pre installed in the game. Though the file size will still remain 90GB+ in total. Players on the PC and Xbox One will have around half the size of the update, as it sits at 50gb day one patch. It is considerably smaller than what PlayStation 4 will be getting.
Ubisoft has said that the patch includes various bug fixes and improvements for the game.
Xbox One and PC:
– If you purchased a physical copy of the game, begin by installing the game. You will then be prompted to download and install Title Update 1; expect a 48-52 GB download, depending on your region and preferred language. Whether you installed the game from a disc or bought it digitally, the final HDD install size, including the patch, will be 48-52 GB.
PS4:
– If you purchased a physical copy of the game, begin installing from the disc. Provided you are online, your console will simultaneously download Title Update 1 while you install it. Expect a 88-92 GB download, depending on your region and preferred language. Whether installed from a disc or downloaded digitally, the final HDD install size will be between 88-92 GB.
If that wasn’t enough, Ubisoft will roll out another update on 11 March. This Title Update 1.5 will be much smaller in size and coming in at 2GB. This update is to fix audio bugs that were reported in the open beta of the game. In addition, those who participated in the private and open beta of The Division 2 will have to download the full game again when they purchase it.
