Team6 Studios, Lion Castle, and GS2 Games have announced a brand-new title Taxi Chaos with a slated release date of February 23, 2021. SEGA will be onboard as a distributor alongside Epicsoft who will be handling the distribution of the title in Japan and Asia. The game will be handled by GS2 Games in North America while Mindscape will handle the distribution in Europe.
Taxi Chaos will be released on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch however a next-gen upgrade might arrive later. Taxi Chaos follows the same gameplay as that of SEGA’s Crazy Taxi franchise where players would drive would earn money by picking up and dropping customers at their destinations. The game is officially described as:
Taxi Chaos is a fresh and modern take on classic taxi games where drivers can earn big fares by successfully picking up and dropping off customers at the destination of their choice. Rush around town to pick up the craziest of customers and deliver them on time as fast as you can.

Taxi Chaos is clearly based on Crazy Taxi which was an extremely fun game back in its days. The very first title was released back in 1999 and after its two sequels, we got some boring mobile platform titles which pretty much meant that the developer is not interested in reviving the franchise. However, it appears like Taxi Chaos is going to bring back this iconic franchise in a new form.
While it is not an official title by SEGA, SEGA is still the game’s official distributor in Asia which means that SEGA is somewhat onboard the project as well and there won’t be any copyright issues later down the lane. We are actually pretty excited to see the game come out next year and jump back in the wacky taxi game.
