Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Brings Joker from Persona 5, and Stage Builder

Super Smash Bros

On April 17, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will bring in a new fighter to the roster, this time it is Persona 5’s Joker that is being added into the game. The update will also bring in new features like the Stage Builder and Video Editor.

The news was revealed by Nintendo in a new YouTube video. The update version 3.0 will be available for all players who own the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch. The Stage Builder was previously rumored to be coming out this month, with a subtle hint in a Switch add that showed the Stage Builder icon on the menu.

Take a look at the video detailing Joker:

Talking about Persona 5’s Joker, Nintendo detailed his moveset, his gun that he will be using in combat, his grappling hook, and his curse type skill Eiha to attack enemies. He is also shown to be using his Rebel’s Guard defense to deflect any damage, and fill his Rebellion Gauge. This gauge when full can be used to summon his persona, Arsene, to fight alongside him. With Arsene, Jokers abilities will be boosted, thus giving him newer and more powerful attack moves.

But that is not all from Persona 5 which is coming into the game. Nintendo has also revealed a first Challenge pack for $5.99 that will include a Persona themed stage Mementos and 11 music tracks that include arrangements from Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5. The mementos will be changing their color schemes based on the type of Persona music that it comes from.

Aside from Joker, the game will also include the Stage Builder and the Video Editor mode in the game. the Stage Builder is nothing new to previous Smash games, though it was missing in the latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The new Stage Builder mode will allow players to either build in handheld mode or via TV Mode, and there will be new stage elements for players to choose from.

Players will now be able to import videos saved to their Nintendo Switch and edit on a timeline. These videos and the stages built on Stage Builder can then be shared on the new Shared Content mode.
