Street Fighter 5 is Free-to-Play for 2 Weeks From Tomorrow

Street Fighter 5

Capcom is making Street Fighter 5 free for everyone to play for 2 weeks. The fighting game will be free for 2 weeks and gives players a great chance to experience this game if they hadn’t had the chance.

The announcement was made by Capcom via their Capcom Blog that Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be run for a free trial period for PlayStation 4 and PC gamers. The free trial period is to start from April 23 and will end on May 5.

The game will feature 16 playable fighters as well as four bonus DLC characters. These include Blanka, Juri, Meant and Akuma. However, the DLC characters are only available in certain game modes such as Training, Casual and Ranked.

Experience the intensity of head-to-head battle with Street Fighter® V! Choose from 16 iconic characters, each with their own personal story and unique training challenges, then battle against friends online or offline with a robust variety of match options.

Since the game is Arcade Edition, players will have access to Arcade Mode, Extra Battle and Team Battle. 13 days is plenty of time to experience the gameplay, which players can decide to purchase later on if they are interested in.

The timing of the free trial is rather interesting as April 23 is also the day Mortal Kombat 11 is to launch. Whether or not this is something Capcom is aware of or is a cheeky little move to undermine the launch of NetherRealm upcoming game, we cannot be certain. Nevertheless, a free Street Fighter Game will be a double treat for PlayStation 4 and PC owners if they have Mortal Kombat 11 in their library as well for tomorrow.
