SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition and SteamWorld Dig Announced for Switch

SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition Switch

Super Rare Games have announced their partnership with Image & Form to release SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition and SteamWorld Dig in physical forms for the Nintendo Switch. This comes as Super Rare Games is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the SteamWorld series, and also marks the first time that it is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

However, here is the catch. Super Rare Games is only selling a limited amount of physical copies worldwide. This means that if you want to secure a copy of both the editions, you might want to hurry up.

SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition will have only 6,000 copies to be sold worldwide, while SteamWorld Dig will have 5,000 limited copies. Pre-orders for both the games will go live on July 9th at 10:00 am PT. Both games will cost you around £30 (approx $31 USD/33€) or as a collector’s double-pack for £60.

SteamWorld Dig is a highly acclaimed platform mining adventure game with strong Meroidvanian influences. You take the role of Rusty, a lone mining steamboat, as he arrives at an old mining town in great need. Dig your way through the old earth, gaining riches while uncovering the ancient threat that lurks below. Here is what you can expect in the game:

  • Beloved indie hit, available in physical form on the Nintendo Switch for the first time (including SteamWorld Dig 2 as a bonus!)
  • A rich world of steam-driven robots, inspired by Steampunk and Western themes
  • Explore an underground world full of secrets, treasure and terrors
  • Randomized worlds with emergent gameplay

On the other hand, SteamWorld Heist is set a few centuries after SteamWorld Dig 2, where it is up to a hearty steamboat crew to board, loot and shoot their way through enemy spaceships. With you as their captain, take on the challenges of the vast frontier by upgrading your recruits with unique abilities, weapons, and even stylish hats.

SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition is fully optimized for Nintendo Switch and comes with extra content previously only available as DLC. Including a mysterious ally and a shipload of weapons, upgrades, hats, and missions.
