Taito and ININ Games have shared additional details on two of their iconic games Space Invaders Forever and Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron is Back! Coming later this year. Both of them will release on PS4 and Nintendo Switch this year however a confirmed release date is not known at this point.
Space Invaders Forever will release as a digital title as well as a boxed title for Nintendo Switch and PS4 in NA, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand by ININ Games. It is one of the most iconic franchises in the video game industry and the new collection is bringing back three games to life on modern consoles. The Space Invaders Forever collection will include:
- Space Invaders Extreme
- Space Invaders Gigamax 4 SE
- Arkanoid vs. Space Invaders
Space Invaders Extreme will feature improved graphics and interactive sound to deliver a new immersive experience. It will have 16 stages packed with devious invaders and fiendish boss fights. You will be able to practice in each of these rounds in Free Play and then take on the real challenge in the Arcade mode. There will be plenty of hidden bonuses for you to find in the game as well.
Space Invaders Gigamax 4 SE is coming to consoles for the first time as part of the collection and it will allow you to team up with up to three of your friends to shoot down the invaders to clear the stages as fast as possible. The game has new stages, gimmicks, and a brand new soundtrack that will keep you busy for a long time.
Arkanoid vs. Space Invaders is a perfect match of two great franchises. Both titles are from Taito and you will be able to play the mashup right as it was on the arcade machines. The game combines elements from both arcade classics to deliver completely unique gameplay as you use the Arkanoid Vaus paddle ship to defeat waves of Space Invaders.
The second release to get a spotlight once again is Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron is Back!. It will also release on PS4 and Nintendo Switch in both digital and physical forms. It will introduce a brand new Online Ranking Feature for the Nintendo Switch version of the game which will allow players to compete for highscores with players from around the world. This is aimed at increasing the replayability of the title along with competitiveness.
It will also have 100 unique and new stages. You can check out the brand new trailer to catch a glimpse of the new levels and the game in action. The fan-favorite villain Baron von Blubba is also making a comeback as he will make the new stages more challenging since he is invincible. You will be required to didge him while defeating other enemies in a bid to clear the stages. The update will be free for all current Nintendo Switch players who own the base game.
