FromSoftware has released a new gameplay overview trailer for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and it goes over all the basics of the game. If you have been following all the game announcements and the game development over the past few months, you will be aware of most of these mechanics of Sekiro. However, the new trailer is very detailed and will introduce you each basic mechanic of Sekiro if you missed anything earlier.
The trailer starts by explaining the setting of the game and then moves to introducing the main character of the game with which players will experience Japan like never before. The narrator explains the story of the shinobi ‘The Wolf’ who lost his master to his enemies and as the Shinobi Code states, he must return his master to his rightful place. The Wolf then sets on the journey to bring back his master ‘The Divine Heir’ from the clutches of the Ashina Clan.
The trailer continues to explain Wolf’s prosthetic arm and how it can be altered to have different powers. It can be used as a shield from enemies, grappling hook to move around and gain tactical advantage in combat, flame vent to deal fire damage to enemies, break enemy shields with a loaded axe or drag enemies closer with the loaded spear.

The later part of the trailer focuses on the combat. Players will need to use strategy and unique tactics against different types of enemies. Each enemy in the game is unique and hence must be dealt with accordingly. Players can deflect enemy attacks and regular deflection will break the enemy’s posture allowing you to move in and nab some hits.
Players can also opt for stealth kills if that is their style. Stealth will not be a viable option is every situation however certain situations will give players freedom to opt for direct confrontation with enemies or choose a subtler and stealth approach which will allow them one hit kills.
