CookieRun: Kingdom has announced the launch of a new chapter with the arrival of its “Timeline of Fate” update, introducing a fresh storyline, new playable Cookies, and several gameplay systems designed to push the long-running mobile RPG into its next era.
The update arrives at an important moment for the franchise as developer Devsisters continues expanding CookieRun beyond mobile gaming into a broader entertainment brand. Over the past few years, the series has grown into one of the most recognizable mobile RPG franchises globally, surpassing 300 million cumulative players while branching into collaborations, merchandise, live events, and pop culture crossovers.
Within CookieRun: Kingdom, “Timeline of Fate” acts as a direct follow-up to the game’s previous major storyline centered around Dark Enchantress Cookie. Rather than simply continuing the existing narrative, the update introduces a new time-travel arc that fundamentally changes the direction of the game’s world and future story content.
Conflict begins after Shadow Milk Cookie steals a fragment of the Ultimate Cookie’s dough alongside the Beast’s Soul Jams before escaping into the past. The resulting timeline fracture destabilizes reality itself, forcing Timekeeper Cookie to intervene as battles begin spreading across multiple eras. The new storyline leans heavily into themes of collapsing timelines, alternate realities, and temporal manipulation, giving the game a noticeably larger fantasy scope compared to earlier story chapters.
As part of the update, players gain access to “Ash-Bound Soul,” the first episode in the new Timeline of Fate exploration mode. The expansion also introduces a new battle modifier system called Unstable Timeline, where enemies become significantly stronger while player movement and attack speeds are reduced, creating more demanding encounters focused on timing and team synergy.
Two new playable Cookies headline the update. Legendary-tier Timekeeper Cookie uses time-based magic abilities capable of disrupting enemies and preventing revived opponents from returning to battle, while Epic-tier Ash Salt Cookie focuses on aggressive close-range combat and sustained offensive pressure.
The patch also expands long-term progression with a new six-star Legendary growth system that will gradually roll out across older Legendary Cookies. Elsewhere, returning players will find quality-of-life improvements through the new Kingdom Affairs management hub, expanded Choco Cake Tower endgame content, additional cosmetics, and the return of Arcade Arena seasonal battles.
Since its launch, CookieRun: Kingdom has managed to surpass 300 million cumulative players across the world and has managed to engage fans who were previously not aware of the game, thanks to the KPop Demon Hunters collaboration and a New York City pop-up that drew over 40,000 players during its 10 days. CookieRun: Kingdom is currently available on iOS and Android.
