ININ Games has announced that the hardcore shoot ‘em up Rolling Gunner is now available digitally on PS4 as well which includes the Overpower DLC as well. Rolling Gunner was released physically last year for both PS4 and Nintendo Switch and a digital release was announced initially for late 2021 but the release was pushed into 2022 however now, the digital PS4 version of Rolling Gunner has finally arrived along with its DLC.
Rolling Gunner is a bullet-hell 2D shoot ‘em up which is directed by ex-Cave developer Daisuke Koizumi who also has Deathsmiles 2, Dondonpachi, and many other titles under its belt as well. The game features an adrenaline-tingling arcade-style scrolling blaster with weapons and bombs galore. To celebrate the new PS4 digital release, the developer has also released a new trailer for the game as well. Check out the trailer below before we jump into additional details:
With plenty of shoot ‘em ups currently coming back to life on modern consoles, Rolling Gunner sets itself apart from others by offering a lot more content. Apart from the digital edition, hardcore fans of the game can also head over to Strictly Limited Games to grad a highly limited Collector’s Edition which will ship in June 2022. The normal digital edition includes both the base game as well as the Overpower DLC in the same package.
Rolling Gunner is set in the year 2061 when the now-sentient computer system called the BAC has turned technology against humanity and erased half of the world’s population. The remaining humans can only be saved by the courageous RF-42R STORK spacecraft pilot armed with the Rolling Gun. It is a special weapon that is secretly built to combat the BAC. You will take command of your ship and battle your way through enemy ships as you earn points and upgrade your equipment to finally face the AI and defeat it.
Highscore chasers will be happy to know that the game supports high core rankings and it will allow you to secure your place among the elite players on the global online ranking boards which were added to the PS4 version of Rolling Gunner. The Overpower DLC offers a new control scheme as it converts the game into a twin-stick shooter along with a new soundtrack. This increases your control over the ship as you can move and shoot independently. Key features of the game include:

- Navigate across six stages blanketed in a hail of bullets from an unceasing onslaught of enemies and screen-filling bosses
