Ubisoft is bringing many changes in its year 4 season 1 of Rainbow Six: Siege. The developer has announced changes to team kill, lean spam and discounts on the cost of older operators. The developer also recently announced to be giving the game for free with the 12 month PS Plus subscription to players
Along with the release of the new season Operation Burnt Horizon, two new operators and a new map, the game is coming in with some very important changes for players of the game. This includes that entire modifications of how friendly fire system works, along with improvements.
Friendly fire will now do reverse damage to players. That will only activate after a player has killed a teammate once during a match. Team killing has been a problem in Siege for years. These changes will hopefully make the team kills happen less often.
Ubisoft is also implementing a proposed fix for lean spam. The new animation has much less head movement in third person, making it easier to land headshots.
The changes include the revamp of maps such as Kafe Dostoyevsky, Kanal, and Theme Park. Where the changes usually involve moving obstacles, changing building layouts and altering different visual elements of a map.
Another big change coming that was previously teased by Ubisoft is how the cost of the game’s operators will change the older they become. Ubisoft has unveiled a new tier system for operators based on how long they have been in the game. Game Operators released less than a year ago will continue to be 25,000 Renown, or 600 R6 Credits.
Once an operator reaches between a year and two year old, their prices will drop to 20,000 Renown (480 R6 Credit). For Operators as old as between two and three years old, their prices drop down to 15,000 Renown (360 R6 credits). The last tier that offers the lowest price for Operators more than four years old, their prices are going to be dropped to 10,000 Renown (240 R6 Credits).
This can help players new to the game massively, in trying to unlock new operators in the game. Gathering the current 25,000 can be a grind in the game. This will greatly allow players to get their hands on the character that they had their eyes on much sooner.
