A new leak suggests that Ubisoft is going to announce Rainbow Six Quarantine as a new co-op PVE game that would be a Siege spin-off. The rumor also says that the game would be revealed next week during E3 when Ubisoft is going to hold its conference.
If the rumor is true, the announcement could come as early as next week and would be quite the interesting take on the Rainbow Six Siege game that is still very popular since its release back in 2015.
Kotaku’s Jason Schreier has suggested on a podcast that the game would be based on the previously scrapped Pioneer project. However, industry analyst ZhugeEx refuted this claim on a ResetEra thread, saying that the game would not be based on Pioneer.
So what is Quarantine all going to be about? It makes more sense now that the game would be very similar to the Outbreak mode that was introduced in Rainbow Six Siege last year in 2018. This mode was very similar to the gameplay of Left 4 Dead where combined with the tight gameplay of Siege and the destruction made it an instant hit in the community.
The mode was limited time only, and Ubisoft kept its word and took it away from the game eventually. The fans, however, kept requesting a similar mode or to bring the mode back entirely in the game. Guessing how well-received Outbreak was, Ubisoft might have worked into developing a game inspired by the mode and would have come up with something similar to that sort.
If you are unaware of Outbreak, the mode allowed players to choose their Operators and enter an area filled with zombie and alien infestation. Not only is there a threat of zombies, but you also had to fight with zombie and alien bosses that would take players down instantly. Working together and taking down the boss was vital in succeeding in the mode.
With E3 2019 just around the corner, its only a matter of time until we get to see if the rumors were indeed true. What do you think Rainbow Six Quarantine would be about? Post your comments below.
