Battle royale is the main genre of this generation and we have seen in the past that this genre is now expanding to other than just shooters. We have notmycar which is a battle royale game with cars and trucks but now we are getting DOGFIGHTER –WW2 which is a battle royale game with warplanes. DOGFIGHTER – WW2 is also a PS4 exclusive title.
In its first phase, it is coming out only in North America. The high-flying battle royale game is being developed by Grumpy, I-Bong, and IGGYMOB and it will give players a chance to take to the skies of war-torn European and Pacific theatres of WW2 and try to survive the onslaught until only one fighter is left is the skies.
DOGFIGHTER – WW2 features authentic and replicated warplanes based on their real-life World War 2 counterparts and players use them to fly and experience dogfights in massive Battle Royales with up to 40 other players from around the world. 40 does not sound too much however the limit might be increased at a later stage. The game will not just focus on battle royale at release.
There are two modes planned for DOGFIGHTER – WW2. A free-to-play Battle Royale mode will be available to everyone who simply wants to experience the online experience of the game. Accompanying the battle royale mode will be the game’s premium single-player campaign called ‘Into the Fire’ and it will feature a single story campaign complete with cinematic cutscenes.
According to the official press release, key features of DOGFIGHTER – WW2 include:
- A real dogfighting Battle Royale with a maximum of 40 players!!
- Players can freely choose and customize warplanes in Battle Royale, ranging from the US Mustang fighters to the Messerschmitt BF-109, Zero-sen, and Spitfires.
- Anyone who’s played an FPS or TPS will be able to easily get a hang of the arcade controls.
More details will be shared by the developers about DOGFIGHTER – WW2 in the coming days such as a confirmed release date.
