Pokemon Sword and Shield Items Guide

In this Pokemon Sword and Shield Items Guide, we will guide you on all the items that are found in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Pokemon Sword and Shield is set in the grand Galar region and comes with brand new Pokemon and items that we’ve never seen in the franchise before. Now you may be able to purchase quite a lot of items from the generic shops scattered around the Galar region, there are other sources of obtaining items as well in Pokemon Sword and Shield. We have detailed all such alternate sources from where you can get items in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Items Guide – Pokemon Sword and Shield

Our Pokemon Sword and Shield Items Guide details everything that you need to know about items and where to find them in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Battle Tower

The Battle Tower comes with its own shop currency which is required for items that you cannot purchase with the regular currency. It’s comparable to blue essence in LoL. You might ‘find’ these items in random locations but if you want to purchase them, you will need to come to Battle Tower and rank up. The Battle Tower is unlocked after beating the main campaign of the game so you will need to complete the entire main story of the game before you can purchase these items.

To make purchases specific to the Battle Tower currency, you will need to earn BP by winning battles in the Battle Tower. Every time you win battles and rank up, you will earn BP which can be then used to purchase different items in the Battle Tower. BP can only be earned inside the Battle Tower so if you want to earn BP, you will need to fight in the Battle Tower.

Nature Mints

Sold by a vendor inside the Battle Tower. You will need BP for it.

Razer Claw

Sold by the BP Merchant located inside the Pokemon Center at Hammerlocke. Requires BP and it critical if you want to evolve certain Pokemon such as the Sneasel.

Leaf Stone

You can find a Leaf Stone hidden at the path in Turffield if you head west from the Pokemon Center. On this path, you will see an old man staring at some stones. Go to the opposite end to find a Leaf Stone here.

Water Stone

There is a big bridge which resembles the one in the UK and under this bridge, you can find a Water Stone. Head down to the left side of the bridge and you will see a den. Check this area for the sparkle to find the Water Stone.

Shiny Charm

The Shiny Charm helps you in finding Shiny Pokemon easily however getting it is not easy at all. You must complete the main story of the game and then also find all of the Pokemon in your Pokedex. You must have a complete Pokedex before you can finally get a Shiny Charm. Once you’ve managed to do that, head to Circhester and go to the Hotel.

Head upstairs and check the back room to find a weird doctor NPC. Speak with him and if your Pokedex is complete, he will give you a Shiny Charm which will help you get all of the Shiny Pokemon that you want in the game.

Oval Charm

From the same room where you received your Shiny Charm, check the room next to the weird doctor NPC and you will find another NPC who can give you the Oval Charm.

Soothe Bell

The Soothe Bell can be held by your Pokemon who will become friends with you much more quickly than without one. To find the Soothe Bell, head to Hammerlocke and head right from the Pokemon Center. There is a house here right next to the Castle wall. Enter this house and go to the backroom to find a young girl. Speak with the girl who will give you a Soothe Bell.

Cracked Orchid Teapot

The Cracked Orchid Teapot is essential if you want to evolve your Sinistea to Polteageist. The evolution cannot take place without a Cracked Orchid Teapot. It is usually sold by the special item seller located in the Stow-on-Side market however you can find one for free as well. Head behind the market and use the stairs to go to the roofs. Above, you will find a sparkle in the corner. Check it out and it should be a Cracked Orchid Teapot.

Camping Toys

Camping Toys are necessary because some Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield only evolve once you’ve reached a particular friendship level with them. This can be achieved by playing with them while you camp. One of the items that speed up the process of becoming friends with your Pokemon is Camping Toys. You can unlock more Camping Toys by speaking with the Camping Guide.

The Camping Guide is located in the Wild Area near Lake Axewell and he will give you new Camping Toys depending on how many dishes you’ve cooked so far. He will give you a new toy after you cook 5 new recipes. So you get your first toy when you cook 5 dishes, you get your second toy when you cook 10 recipes and this goes on. Get new Camping Toys to play with your Pokemon and increase your friendship level with them.

Bike

The bike is the most important item that you must have in Pokemon Sword and Shield. It will also allow you to cross water at the later stages of the game once you upgrade it. You can get your first bike pretty early in the game. For a detailed guide on how you get a bike and all of its upgrades, check out our dedicated Pokemon Sword and Shield Bike Guide.

Watts (W)

Watts or simply W is a new currency in Pokemon Sword and Shield that you can use in the game. W is not used for generic transactions in the game rather it is used for special, rare and valuable rewards apart from specific NPCs such as the Duo Digger Brothers. Since W is special, obtaining W is also unique and different. You can earn W by investigating dens, completing Roto Rally course, fishing at spots with a yellow aura and defeating wild Pokemon with a yellow aura around them. These are the only ways by which you can earn W for your needs.

Checking with the Duo Digger Brothers

You can also visit the Duo Digger Brothers located near the Pokemon Nursery in Bridge Field in the Wild Area and check with them for specific items. For a fee, the Duo Digger brothers will dig out a random item for you. The two Duo Digger brothers are Skill brother and Stamina brother. You can hire any one of them to dig out items for you. You will pay them with Watts which is a currency unique to Pokemon Sword and Shield and is not really easy to get in the game. Some items can only be found by a specific brother. We have detailed the items found by both of them below.

Stamina Brother Skill Brother
Bag of Soft Sand Sticky Barb
Bag of Stardust Dawn Stone
Damp Rock Comet Fragment
Dawn Stone Sun Stone
Everstone Ice Stone
Hard Stone Rare Bone
Heat Rock Lagging Tail
Lagging Tail Dusk Stone
Leaf Stone Comet Shard
Light Clay Moon Stone
Smooth Rock Shiny Stone
Star Piece Metal Jacket
Sun Stone Wishing Piece

Simply choose any one of the Duo Digger brothers and they will dig out a random item for you in no time.

Looting Random Hidden Items

As you explore the Galar region, you must keep your eyes open for hidden items that are spread across the world in secret locations. Sometimes they might be right in your path as well. The hidden items give out a distinct glow at their hidden location. While you are exploring the Galar region, you should always look out for these glowing sparkles as you will always find something useful in these random locations. You don’t need anything special to dig out these items. Simply press A while you are near them and you will automatically dig out the hidden item.
