Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! & Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! have both introduced some features that are unique to the 1998’s Pokémon Yellow Version, as they include finding and battling the Legendary Trainers: Blue, Red and Green. Below we will go through each of the Legendary Trainer’s location, along with the roster of Pokémon they will fight you with. Additionally, we will also highlight each of their Pokémon’s strength and weaknesses so you can better plan your assault before you begin the battle.

Blue Trainer Location

Blue is the grandson of Professor Oak and is the easiest of the other three trainers that you will find, as you can’t miss him as he is involved in many parts of the main story.

Your first meet Blue after you have earned your first Gym Badge in Pewter City, were he will continue to show up from time to time in your adventure, and even helping you in taking out Team Rocket as you save Silph Co. and make your way up through each of the gyms in Kanto.

In the first encounter with Blue, you will face 2 of his Pokémon that will not be a big challenge for you. Here are the Pokémon you will face:

Exeggutor (Level. 38)

Commonly Used Moves:

  • Light Screen

Charizard (Level. 40)

After you have got yourself the Earth Badge, and have defeated the Elite Four, Blue can be found in Viridian Gym with the following Pokémon to fight:

This is a tough battle where almost all Blue’s Pokémon will be Level 66 from all different kinds of types. You need to bring a Pokémon that can counter all their attacks, which will take them down in no time.

Charizard will evolve into Mega Charizard Y in this battle, so your best bet is to bring Pokémon that are Rock, Water, Electric and Ice Types to fight against him.

Green Trainer Location

Green Trainer can only be located after you have finished the main story of the game. Green is a mysterious trainer that you can find in Cerulean Cave when you go to it again. Green will be looking to catch a Mewtwo in the cave, and will challenge you to a battle.

Clefable (Level. 66)

Gengar (Level. 66)

Kanghaskhan (Level. 66)

Ninetales (Level. 66)

  • Rock
  • Ground

Victreebel (Level. 66)

Blastoise will evolve into Mega Blastoise, this is where a Grass or Electric type Pokémon will work great against him.

Red Trainer Location

Red is the toughest Trainer as he considered the best Pokémon trainer ever.  He appears after you have beater 6 Master Trainers and have a party of 6 Pokémon on your team.

Red will only appear after you have beaten the Elite Four, and unlocked the ability to challenge Master Trainers, followed by defeating at least any 6 of the 153 Master Trainers scattered across Kanto.

After you have done everything above, Red will appear to challenge you and will be quiet tough to beat. Nonetheless, here are the Pokémon in Red’s Team:

Venusaur will evolve to Mega Venusaur in this battle; this is where you need exploit its weakness and bring out the Ice, Fire, Psychic and Flying type to take it down.
