Mega Evolution Tier List – All New Mega Evolutions
There is a total of 26 Mega Evolutions added in the game. These 26 are divided into four tiers. Now, we will discuss them one by one, from best to worst.
Mega Evolutions – S-Tier
There are 4 different Mega Evolutions in S-Tier.
| S-Tier | Description |
| Mega Starmie | Mega Starmie is the best Mega Evolution in the game, surprising many fans. It can be available early in the game and has amazing overall stats.
It ranks as one of the top three new Megas, with a 660 base stat total (BST). It’s a fast hybrid attacker with very high Speed and is powerful.
| Mega Chandelure | It is the second best one with a good Speed and defense system. It has a massive 175 Special Attack stat and a BST of 620. It is very powerful during defense and has high speed movements.
| Mega Skarmory | Mega Skarmory might not look very good with a BST of 565, but it’s very well-balanced. It has a low Special Attack (40) stat, but very high Attack (140), Defense, and Speed.
Steel/Flying type is resistant to many attacks, and with moves like Brave Bird and Iron Head, it becomes very competitive in battle.
| Mega Zygarde | This one comes with a massive 216 Sp. Attack stat and a new move called Nihil Light. This move, when applied on the enemy, deals massive damage regardless of the opponent’s stat and even hits Fairy-types.
Mega Evolutions – A-Tier
There is a total of 8 Megas in A-Tier.
| A-Tier | Description |
| Mega Barbaracle | Mega Barbaracle has high Attack and Defense with solid Speed, and it can use a strong set of STAB and coverage moves that make it a great fighter in any team.
This gets a new type, from Water to Fighting, and that change makes it stand out.
| Mega Emboar | Mega Emboar comes with an Attack of 148, but basic Attack is at 123. But it still hits a hard punch, and still offers good stats and good STAB moves, and resistance against various enemies that make it worth using.
| Mega Excadrill | Mega Excadrill has one of the most powerful attacks in the game with a 165 Attack stat and strong HP, Defense, and Speed. Its combination of Ground and Steel moves makes it excellent and resistant in battles.
| Mega Falinks | Mega Falinks has high Attack and Defense with a decent Speed of 100. Because it relies heavily on Fighting-type and STAB damage moves, it has a variety of coverage options against enemies to counter its weaknesses.
| Mega Feraligatr | Mega Feraligatr gets a new Water/Dragon combo, which gives it power. It has a good 160 Attack stat and moves. Due to its low HP and Speed, it is held behind in the A-Tier in the game; otherwise, it is a very competitive one.
| Mega Floette | Mega Floette has very high Special Attack and Special Defense, making it a strong Fairy-type Pokemon, but due to its limited move options, it holds it back slightly.
| Mega Hawlucha | Mega Hawlucha becomes very good in battle with great stats and moves, and coverage. Its Fighting/Flying combo makes it stronger than ever before.
| Mega Scrafty | Mega Scrafty has excellent bulk with 135 in both Defense and Special Defense and 130 Attack. Its solid move set and access to Bulk Up makes it a strong choice.
Mega Evolutions – B-Tier
There is a total of 8 Megas in B-Tier also.
| B-Tier | Description |
| Mega Clefable | Mega Clefable’s new Fairy/Flying type is more of a defensive one, but it lacks strong offensive moves. Even though it’s immune to Dragon and Ground attacks due to its good defenses, but its limited move options make it an average one.
| Mega Dragonite | Mega Dragonite, despite its 700 BST, it is not as good as the original one. It loses some Attack and gains Special Attack, which doesn’t match well with its move pool.
| Mega Dragalge | Mega Dragalge has number one Special Defense in the game, and good Defense and Special Attack, but its very low Speed (44) makes it struggle in a game where Speed affects cooldowns.
It keeps its Poison/Dragon combo but looks more like the Ghost.
| Mega Drampa | Mega Drampa suffers from the same issue as the Dragalge. It has an excellent 160 Special Attack but extremely low Speed (36), making it slow in battles.
| Mega Eelektross | Mega Eelektross gets a strong hybrid stats but loses its Levitate and Ground ability. This makes it much weaker than before despite having good moves.
| Mega Froslass | Mega Froslass is the only new Ice-type Mega in the game. It has a strong Special Attack and great Speed (120), but its defenses are weak, and Ice remains one of the less reliable types in the early part of the game.
| Mega Pyroar | Mega Pyroar comes with one of the highest Speed stats (126), but it lacks powerful moves and good type coverage. Because of this, it is considered to be one of the weaker Megas.
| Mega Victreebel | Mega Victreebel has a fun design and solid stats, but its Grass and Poison type doesn’t help much offensively. With average Speed and a hybrid attacking style, it is not good in the battles.
Mega Evolutions – C-Tier
There is a total of 3 in C-Tier.
| C-Tier | Description |
| Mega Malamar | Mega Malamar stats are only slightly above average, and its mix of physical and special attack power doesn’t make it shine in either.
| Mega Meganium | Mega Meganium gains Fairy as a secondary type and has good stats, but its limited movepool (attack for Grass and Fairy) and a
4x weakness to Poison makes it one of the weakest Megas in the game.
| Mega Scolipede | Mega Scolipede loses much of its Speed in exchange for higher Attack and Defense, and with low HP and only average Special Defense, it ends up being slow and poor in battle.
