The legendary Master Ball makes its return in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. It is known as the most powerful Poké Ball, and it’s also extremely rare. It guarantees a catch, no matter what Pokémon you’re facing. You may end up getting only one Master Ball throughout the entire game. Because of that, it’s important to think carefully before using it. In this Pokemon Legends: Z-A Master Ball Guide, we will see how we can get a Master Ball, when to use it, and what it does.
How to Get Master Ball in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
To earn a Master Ball, you will need to completely progress through Mable’s Research Rewards program. After you catch five Pokémon, at the request of Mable, you will meet her for the first time during Mission 3. At that point, she introduces you to her Research Rewards system, which offers valuable prizes such as TMs, special items, and eventually, the Master Ball to the trainers.
You need to increase your Research Level to get these rewards. To increase it, you must complete Research Tasks that Mable assigns. You can view your available tasks directly from the main party menu.
You will receive the Master Ball once you reach Research Level 49, which is the second-to-last rank on the Research Rewards track. After you reach that level, talk to Mable again to receive your Master Ball.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A Master Ball – What it is
Master Ball is a special Poké Ball, which, when you use it to catch a Pokémon, always catches it without any resistance or failed attempts. It is the strongest Poké Ball in the game, but also the hardest one to get.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A Master Ball – When to use
As we have discussed earlier, there may be only one Master Ball in the entire game, so you need to use it wisely. You should save it to catch a legendary Pokémon or a rare one that’s otherwise too difficult to catch using other Poké Balls. There might be a chance that the Master Ball you get from Mable’s Research Rewards is the only one in the game, so use it wisely.
It requires a lot of effort before reaching this high rank. You need to complete many Research Tasks. But if you focus on these tasks as you are travelling through Lumiose City, you will get this Poké Ball very soon. That is all for this guide. Additional Pokemon Legends: Z-A guides are linked below:
