This year’s Pokémon Conference was held recently during which The Pokémon Company revealed some major new projects for the Pokémon franchise. The company has revealed 4 games and apps coming out which will focus on different aspects while keeping the same theme, Pokémon. The major announcements during the conference include Pokémon Sleep, Pokémon Home, Pokémon Masters and a sequel for Detective Pikachu coming out on Nintendo Switch.
Starting with Pokémon Masters, it is a brand new game which is coming to iOS and Android later this year. This is a product of DeNA and The Pokémon Company collaborating together and the release is planned for 2019. This game specifically will focus on all Pokémon Masters and will include all of them from the past and present along with their partner Pokémon.
The game will feature 3D models of all characters and they appear to be brand new for Pokémon Masters. The battles will be up to 3-on-3 however detailed gameplay information is not known at this point. Each Pokémon will come with one move and one item. The game will also be suited for beginners to simply jump in and enjoy the game.
The second major announcement from the conference is the Pokémon Home. It is the new cloud-based Pokémon Bank which will be the home of all your Pokémon that you collect throughout your journey. With this brand new cloud service, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pokémon Go and all the future Pokémon Switch games which include the recently announced Pokémon Sword and Shield along with Pokémon Bank for 3DS versions will all be connected together.
With this connectivity between the titles, the service will allow players to store, trade and interact with all their Pokémon and with each other as well from a single place called Pokémon Home. Pokémon Home is slated for release in early 2020 and more details on the cloud service will be revealed in the coming months.

Another major announcement at the conference was Pokémon Sleep. This is a very unique project as it is an app which will transform sleep into entertainment. The release window for Pokémon Sleep is 2020 and this app will monitor the user’s sleep patterns and will eventually reward them for maintaining a good sleeping habit.
With Pokémon Sleep, the company wants everyone to look forward to waking up the next day. The app will use a brand new device called Pokémon Go Plus Plus which is being developed by Nintendo. This small device is shaped like a disc Pokéball. Despite being new, it performs much like the already released device Pokémon Go Plus and Pokéball Plus.
The Pokémon Go Plus Plus can be used to store a Pokémon inside it and will alert the player of nearby Pokestops but in addition, it will also function as a sleep monitoring device for the player and will monitor their sleeping patterns. The device will connect to a mobile phone via Bluetooth and it will sync all data to its app which will show detailed information.
