Piranha Plant Arrives in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in a Surprise Update

Nintendo released a surprise update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and added the Piranha Plant DLC fighter in it as well. It was originally planned to come out in February 2019 but Nintendo gave the fans an early surprise.

The newest update version 2.0.0 comes with a lot of gameplay fixes and new mechanics with it and obviously the new DLC fighter Piranha Plant. Players who buy the game and register it before January 31, 2019 are eligible to get it free of charge. Everyone who has the game and registered it is now all set to play with Piranha Plant for free.

Piranha Plant is the 75th playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate making the roster even bigger. It comes with its own unique moves and special attacks so it is now time to practice with it if you want to make it your main character.

Piranha Plant was the only revealed DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and it was because Nintendo offered it free of charge for all early adopters of the game. If you have not registered your game until now, do it right now if you want to get Piranha Plant for free.

If you purchased digital version of the game, Nintendo will automatically send you a code but if you purchased the physical version, you must register the game card with your account and then Nintendo will send you the code. Now, there is one last step still left.

You must head to the Nintendo eShop and redeem the code there to get Piranha Plant for free. If you do not redeem the code on Nintendo eShop, you will not get it for free. Code redemption is important for getting it free. Players can purchase it as a sperate DLC fighter later as well.

Nintendo has also released detailed patch notes about the version 2.0.0. update. It brings many fighter updates in their moves and movement. For detailed patch notes, you can check out Nintendo’s official release.
