Atlus has just released a new Morgana’s Report video that details new features, battle elements, new locations and characters that are upcoming in Persona 5 Royal. It also gives us a little gameplay footage in a 10-minute highlight video.
The first thing we see in the video is Show Time attack, which is the special team attack of Yusuke and Anne. This double-team move was also featured in the recent character trailers. Once confidant bonds have increased, the Show Time maneuvers are unlocked. This can allow Phantom Thieves to team up for a more stylish looking attack.
Traits that exhibit special effects have also been added to each Persona. There are various types of Traits, which can even be carried over during fusion to create more powerful Personas.
There are also new character accessories that enable the use of specific skills during battle. A new location called Kichijoji is also coming in the game. this location will let you utilize various facilities. This includes Darts, Billiards, Jazz Club, Temple, and other facilities.
Kichijoji also features unique shops like the Rag Shop. This shop allows you to trade any armor you obtained in palaces and Mementos for money. And by saving up trade-in points, you may be able to exchange them for something good.
The report also talks in response to a user question about whether the original story of Persona 5 will see major changes due to the new elements added to Persona 5 Royal. To this Morgana has this to say,
In Persona 5 Royal, while taking care to preserve the main story of Persona 5 without modification, an episode untold in Persona 5 will unfold.
There is another Morgana’s Report that will come out next month in August. This will be the fourth report from Morgana. Persona 5 is set to release on October 31 for the PlayStation 4 in Japan. A western release will follow next year in 2020. Post your comments below.
