notmycar Beginner's Guide

In this notmycar Beginner’s Guide, we will guide you on how you can start playing notmycar which is a brand-new vehicular combat battle royale game. We have our fair share of battle royale titles in the past but no other game is as unique as notmycar because in this game, the main characters are cars and you fight others using Mad Max-style vehicles with weapons. It is vital that you have a clear understanding of all game mechanics before you jump in the game.

We have curated this notmycar Beginner’s Guide in which we have detailed every basic mechanic that you should be aware of when it comes to playing notmycar. Survival in the game is not easy and if since the game was just released, you cannot be a champion of the game already. It is best if you go through our guide and get a better understanding of how the game plays out and how you can increase your chances of survival in the title.

Beginner’s Guide – notmycar

Our notmycar Beginner’s Guide details everything that you need to know about playing notmycar for the first time and getting better at it.

Pick up the Best Items

Just like any other battle royale game, notmycar features an item tier system and each tier is color-coded. You will need to find higher-tier items if you want to survive until the very end of the round. You can easily identify each item in notmycar by simply looking at the color of the item you are about to pick up. There are five item tiers in notmycar. You can check them below.

  • Grey – Common
  • Green – Uncommon
  • Blue – Rare
  • Purple – Epic
  • Gold – Legendary (Only available in Supply Drops)

Initially, you will find only the weakest items in the game. Certain areas also give high-tier items right at the start but they also attract the most traffic. You should try to find high-tier items as soon as possible especially if you are approaching the end of the level because higher-tier items will certainly give you an edge in the game.

Look for Supply Drops

Supply Drops in notmycar are the only source of Gold aka Legendary Items in notmycar. These can be spotted easily by red smoke coming from them. Every time a supply drop is dropped on the map, it will be marked by red smoke. The smoke can be easily found by players over a large distance so you will not be the only one heading to these supply drops.

Expect heavy fighting over the supply drops so you can either wait for others to fight for the loot and then move in to finish the winner or if you are confident, aim directly for the supply drop and defend it until you get the loot. The loot is of the highest tier so they are worth the trouble. Every time you see red smoke on the map, head towards it and try to get it.

Find Armor for Your Vehicle

Although you are driving around in vehicles, you still need to find armor for them. Higher-level armor parts will help you survive longer in encounters. The complete armor set is made of four parts in notmycar. These parts are the Hood, Engine, Tires, and Chassis. You have to find each armor piece separately. Your blue armor bar will only increase when you find and equip more armor parts.

Just like other items, higher-tier armor parts are better than lower-tier parts. Try to scavenge higher-level armor parts and you will be much safer in encounters. Keep in mind that you need to find all four armor pieces if you really want to secure your vehicle. Do not rely on just one or two armor parts. Try to find all four armor parts. Even low-level armor parts would suffice for the early parts of a game.

Explore the Map

Notmycar features a pretty decent map with different locations on it. You will find some locations to be high traffic and some locations to be low traffic. You can pick your own location every time just like any other battle royale game so you must explore the entire map first before choosing a primary starting location. Each location will offer something unique to your experience.

Use Items and Abilities

Notmycar features a healthy amount of different items and abilities that will certainly come in handy in different situations. These items can be found in the entire map however you have a limited inventory so you must only keep those items which are useful and more suitable to your playstyle. Some of these items are offensive while some are defensive. You will find all items currently present in notmycar along with what they do below.

  • Small Repair Kit – Allows you to repair a small chunk of your vehicle’s health.
  • Large Repair Kits – Allows you to repair a large chunk of your vehicle’s health.
  • Armor Repair Kits – Allows you to repair your vehicle’s armor
  • Health Booster – Increases your vehicle’s maximum health for a little time.
  • Shield – Forms a protective barrier around your vehicle absorbing a decent amount of damage. It lasts for a short time, however.
  • EMP Blast – Disables all surrounding vehicles for a short duration.
  • Proximity Mines – Allows you to drop 3 proximity mines.
  • Cloak – This will make your invisible for some time. Shooting will disable it instantly. While you are cloaked, you will also not appear in radar scans.
  • Smoke – Drops smoke screen behind you for some time making it harder for enemies to shoot you.
  • Ramp – Deploys a ramp at your front.
  • Barrier – Deploys a barrier at your front blocking enemies.
  • Super Boost – Grants you a short burst of speed.
  • Radar – Displays all enemy vehicles near your location by highlighting them in a red outline.

Choose your Weapons Carefully

Notmycar features a decent amount of unique weapons for you to use in the game. However, limited inventory means that you can only carry two weapons at a single time. You must pick two weapons catering to different situations so that you can quickly switch to the desired weapons quickly according to the situation you find yourself in.

More weapons might be added to the game later since it is currently in Early Access but at this point, you will find the following weapons in the game.

  • Machine Gun – It is the best medium-range weapon in the game with decent damage and magazine size however repeated fire will make it inaccurate. Use short, controlled bursts for more impact.
  • Shotgun – Preferred weapons for short and close-range combat. Short magazine size means that you will be reloading it often.
  • Grenade Launcher – Fires grenades that explode on impact. Excellent AoE damage however useless if the enemy keeps moving around. Hard to actually hit enemies with it.
  • Submachine Gun – Features a big magazine but a very fast firing rate of three-round bursts. Only useful for covering fire as it does not deal a lot of damage to enemies. I would prefer the machine gun over this submachine gun.
  • Rocket Launcher – My favorite second weapon to use in notmycar. If you manage to hit an enemy with it, it deals exceptional damage to them however hitting them can be an issue since you are trying to fight vehicles in notmycar. Try to anticipate your enemy’s path before firing and you will land a confirmed hit with these.
  • Gatling Gun – This gun offers the biggest magazine in notmycar and it is pretty much the ‘press the trigger and forget’ type of weapon in the game. Its firing speed is very high but has a lot of fire spread making it not a very effective weapon in moving situations. Bullets also deal low damage to enemies.
  • Rail Gun – The slowest weapon in the game but when fully charged, also the deadliest. You can hold the trigger to charge it up and fire a fully charged slug to deal massive damage to enemies. If you manage to hit that it.
  • The Spitfire – This is a Legendary Weapon so it is only found in Supply Drops.  It has a pretty decent magazine size but it fires in bursts. It features a higher damage output than the standard machine gun.
  • The Napolean – This is also a Legendary Weapon so you will only find it in Supply Drops. This is a grenade launcher and you have to reload it after every fire. Deals exceptional damage but the reload makes it a slow-firing weapon.

Keep an Eye Out for the Shrinking Circle

Before we end this guide, let’s not forget that this is a battle royale title so the map will always be shrinking. Keep your eyes peeled for the timer and always move to the locations of the new circle when the map is about to become smaller. Else if you are caught outside the playable circle, you will take damage and if your health reaches zero, you will die and the match will end pretty quickly for you.
