Nintendo Employees Earn an Average of $80,000 for Working Less than 8 Hours/Day

Nintendo has revealed some very interesting stats about its work culture and its average salary and work hours that the employees put in. The information came from the Japanese company’s recruitment page on its website.

The recruitment page stats that the average earnings an employee makes is $80,000 a year and stays with the company for 13.5 years. The stats that were posted on the recruitment page were spotted by an industry analyst Daniel Ahmad on Thursday.

The company is comprised of 2.271 employees and the average age is 38.6 years. The video game studio surprisingly has less working hours in a country where long working hours are prominent. As the average employee in Nintendo works for 7 hours and 45 minutes each day with one hour break in the day.

Nintendo is planning to recruit 81 new college graduates in 2019, which is a significant increase from the 59 that were hired last year in 2018. So if you are interested in working in the gaming industry, in company that is a gamin giant, you might want to look up at the Nintendo’s recruitment page.

In addition to the salary and the work hours, all the employees also receive a pay increase every April awhile still being eligible for two bonuses in June and December. This paint s totally different picture to what the Western studios like Telltale Games and other gaming industry giants portray.

From long working hours, exhausting the employees by working over the weekend like Rockstar Games did when developing Red Dead Redemption 2, to Telltale Games not providing any security to the employees it laid off in a surprise announcement last year.

Nonetheless, it seems that employees over at the eastern side of the world, working in Nintendo are at a much better position. And it seems like it is the ideal time for Nintendo to hire new and fresh graduates with their recent announcement of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.
