Meltan

With the latest discovery of Meltan in the Pokémon World, The Pokémon Company International, Niantic, Inc., and Nintendo have now revealed how to catch the new Pokémon and to transfer it from Pokémon Go to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

In a new video shared, Professor Oak and Professor Willow have shared their findings about this new Pokémon with their hard work in research put into Meltan. Check out the video below.

Players of Pokémon GO will now also be able to assist Professor Willow in the ongoing investigation into Meltan, with the Special Research tasks coming this winter for the app.

If you are interested into the behavior or Meltan, check out the video beow which shows the new Pokémon’s love for metal objects, as well as highlighting that its lower body is made of liquid metal. You can also see the video detailing Meltan’s behavior below.

Generally, sending Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will result in players receiving certain items in the app, such as Candies for the species of Pokémon sent. However, the first time players send a Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, they can receive a very special item—a Mystery Box.

Once you open the Mystery Box, Meltans will start appearing and can be caught the same way as any Pokémon. After Meltan has been caught it can be transferred to the GO Park in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

In addition, players can also get a Mystery Box themselves by sending Pokémon to a Friend’s Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Game. While Professor Oak also added that the Mystery Box closes and will re open again after a set time.

For now, it is unclear how Meltan will perform competitively against other Pokémon’s. Considering that Meltan is a mythical Pokémon, it is likely to have above average base stats. This also means that players will have to catch multiple Meltans to find the right one.

Meltan is a steel typed Pokémon that has a nut as a head and liquid metal body below. It generates electricity using the metal that it absorbs from outside sources.

Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee! are set to arrive on November 16th exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
