New Trailer for The Sinking City Showcases Investigation System

Bigben and Frogwares have released a new gameplay trailer of The Sinking City which showcases the investigation system in their upcoming video game.

The new trailer throws the player directly into the game’s mysterious universe and shows Charles Reed, the detective, investigating supernatural elements and madness which is devastating the Oakmont town. Charles Reed is the main lead character of The Sinking City.

In The Sinking City, players will get in the shoes of Charles Reed who is a detective and must uncover the secrets behind a mysterious flood in Oakmont. Players will have complete freedom of exploring the town and investigating on their own.

Players will investigate crime scenes, collect information and question the inhabitants of the town to find clues and eventually solve the mystery. The game offers no hints or assistance to the players and thus everyone is one their own. This gives complete freedom to the player to approach the investigation on their own.

Reed also comes with some special abilities that will help him solve different puzzles and mysteries in the game. Abilities such as Retrocognition, which allows Reed to replay past scenes, are super handy and will allow Reed to experience and solve mysteries which are beyond any other person’s comprehension.

Solving the puzzles won’t be easy as players will need to collect clues, find out what they have in common and also support their theories using an in-game tool called Mind Palace. Players can submit their hypothesis and the tool will help them decide whether they are on the right path or not. At the end, players must accept the consequences of their choices.

Set in the 1920s, The Sinking City is an action and investigation game based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft also known as master of horror. Jump in the shoes of Charles reed, a private detective who visits Oakmont, Massachusetts to investigate the reasons behind a supernatural flood.

The Sinking City is coming soon on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
